From Spreadsheets to Song: How this joyful accountant spreads Christmas cheer

Every year, Christmas reminds us of the importance of joy, generosity, and togetherness. As someone who adores the festive season, it’s always been my goal to make people smile—whether it’s with a spreadsheet or a song! Many are surprised when they hear an accountant is also a champion of happiness, but being “The Joyful Accountant” is who I am, especially this time of year.
Back in 2022, I had the honour of becoming the UK Laughing Champion, celebrating the power of laughter in our lives. Shortly after, I appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, where I managed to get Simon Cowell and the other judges singing “If You’re Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands”—a moment I’ll cherish forever! I was even nominated for a Pride of Britain Award, which means so much to me as someone who believes in spreading kindness wherever I go.
This Christmas, as always, I’m volunteering with the London Basket Brigade—an incredible charity that delivers festive food hampers to families who need a little extra support and cheer. But my mission is about so much more than numbers; my focus is on lifting spirits and giving others that extra spark of joy.

Throughout December, you can catch me singing carols all over London with not one but two wonderful singing groups: One Voice and The Singing Striders. I truly believe music and laughter are magical ingredients for bringing communities together, and Christmas is the perfect time to go all out to make people feel good.
I always say:“Christmas is my special time to go all out and make people feel good. Even an accountant can spread happiness and hope. Laughter and music bring us together—especially at Christmas.”

Thank you for joining me on this journey to spread joy, hope, and laughter—whether you’re crunching numbers or belting out a tune! If you’d like to find out more, collaborate, or see the Joyful Accountant in action this festive season, just get in touch at info@gennyjonestraining.com.
Let’s make this Christmas bright, together!
